Still truckin on...

STUDENT TEACHING IS CONSUMING MY LIFE!!

I have like... no new news because that's literally all my life consists of ha. I will think really hard of things going on lately... I don't know why I even bother blogging with nothing to say ha.

Two weeks ago I started teaching at Riverton High School, near South Jordan, coincidentally my bff Aaron Sharp's alma mater. The commute is a BEAST. Not really, but its more driving than I have ever done in my life ha. It's 40 minutes each way, and I have to leave my house at at least 6:20 every morning to get their by 7AM, 30 minutes before school starts. Sheesh. I went to the library a couple weeks ago to check out some books on CD. I didn't find any GREAT ones, but right now I am almost done with this WWII Mormon historical fiction called "I'll be seeing you" It's pretty dumb, but it keeps me awake and alert while driving so I don't doze off, crash, and die. The library really only seems to have mormon-spinned fictions so I will have to see what I can do to find something real to listen to ha. Any book suggestions? (For the plethora of people that read this blog, ha) Maybe I'll just do harry potter again... :)

At the high school I am teaching Child Development. I actually am really liking it. The slight downside is that I jumped in on the reproduction unit. My teacher had the class make sperm & eggs out of pipecleaners and then use them to reenact what happens in the uterus. WOMB. I'll have to post a picture at some point cause its ridiculous. Kids are fun, more relate-able since they're older, but still punks.Made them St. Patrick's day muddy-buddies out of white chocolate, sixlets, and lucky charm marshmallows. Sorting marshmallows from cereal is probably one of the most monotonous things I've ever done. But they turned out cute and the kids loved them.

Matthew has been sick lately... He is getting intense migraines almost daily with a fever. It's freaking me out and my worst case scenario is like a giant cancerous brain tumor, but hopefully I'm just jumping to conclusions. No amount or kind of medicine is helping alleviate the pain and it is so hard to see him in pain like that :( keep him in your prayers.

My brother-in-law-whom-I-have-never-met got home last week! I still won't get to meet him for another 4-5 weeks when they all come down to see us graduate. Excited. (for both things). Rach is still in Tokyo, and gets to use facebook now which is neato skeeto.

I changed my favorite food. It is now pancakes. I want them. I want them all the time. I am always craving pancakes. Favorite pancakes: IHOP's new york cheesecake pancakes, Magleby's cinnamon swirl pancakes, and Matt's grandma's buttermilk pancakes. Heavenly, all of them.

Rach, Chels, Hannah (plus all of their  boys) and I (minus my boy) went to go see Elizabeth Smart speak last weekend in the HFAC. Except, oh wait we didn't get in because the line was 50,000 miles long, wrapped around the entire HFAC building and beyond, and the DeJong only fits 1200. So we waited in the cold in line for ions, but it was joyous to talk to each other and be reunited. I really truly love these girls. Afterwards I went to go visit piss, because I missed her since she wouldn't come (ha). But she wasn't home and I was sad.

Lately I've been able to go to Matt, Brig, Aaron, and sometimes Conner's bowling league Wednesday nights. Its incredibly weird but its fun to be with my boys. I wish I could bowl. I can't. I'm awful. One day Matt will teach me maybe ha.

Last week we got to go to the temple and do about 20 family names for sealings. It was so great! I've only done family names a couple of times, because it is sooo hard for us to find names since a lot of the work has been done in my multi-mormon-generational family. But every once in awhile I find a few gems and get to complete them myself in the temple! It really is such a beautiful and wonderful work, and an incredible spirit in that holy house.

Lastly, pi day was yesterday, and I was too exhausted/busy to even make pie! It was a sad day, and the first time in years I haven't had pie on pi day. We went to a humor U party for all of the senior members graduating this april. It was a blast, catered by magleby's (pancakes!!!!), and lots of inappropriate humor u roasting each other and jokes. But tons of fun, and cute babies. But no pie :( However, I did think back to pie day about a year ago and found this little gem
Pi day 2013, and the day we first said "I love you". Happiness! I love this guy more than anything, and I am grateful every day to have him, sick or well. Now if only we could both find jobs, because we are both officially unemployed when we graduate, since we are both employed by BYU! Ha. Summer is looking more and more interesting. But what matters is that we are together and in love so it will be great!
