Merry Kristamas, Elise Navidad
Despite not living with Krista anymore, I still find myself using of our christmas nicknames instead of normal things in these types of situations.
Go figure.
Anywho, not a lot of EXTREMELY exciting things happening around the shipley household... but I'll tell you about the boring stuff anyway.
On the weekend of November 23rd, Matthew flew up to Indiana to go to the BYU vs. Notre Dame football game, as he was working on a journalism-illustration collaboration project and did some illustrations for some news articles in the Daily Universe. Famous. It was freezing bitter cold, and he was sick when he got home, and remained so for a few weeks... but it was still (apparently) worth it. He got to meet Rudy? Apparently that's like some famous sports guy. Idk. My dad sounded pretty excited when I told him, but I... yeah I just don't know what that means, ha. Here's Matt's first illustration for the daily universe:

Matt got home Sunday night, and then we had thanksgiving break the next week! We went up to Grandma & Grandpa Stoddard's house for dinner with a few of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Played some games with the fam, did a lot of laundry, bought a TV online for some black friday deal, and stayed the night. I had to do a thanksgiving-themed floral arrangement for extra credit:
Then the next day, we FINALLY GOT TO PUT UP CHRISTMAS!!! Matt doesn't believe in Christmas season starting the day after Thanksgiving... But I insisted. Here are a few pics of our house:
(Matt playing candy crush on my phone- sorry unrelated)
This week we had a couple of freak snowstorms, and we are just waiting for someone to get impaled by these icicles:
Other than that, we are just struggling students trying to survive through the last week of school and finals. Then, home to texas for christmas, and new jersey for new years and for our last wedding reception, ha. Only 4 months late. Then I start student teaching, and Matt goes back to school! Sooner or later, maybe we'll graduate!
Go figure.
