Seven Brid(al showers) for Seven.... just me actually

I had seven bridal showers... what?

Unfortunately... I have like... literally no pictures of any of them, which kind of stinks, but they were fun so I thought they were worth blogging about.

  1. With the Layne Girls. On the fourth of july, my 3 aunts, grandma, mom, 5 sisters, and 5 cousins trekked over to JC Penneys and had a bridal-shower-fashion-show. Everyone got to pick out a couple outfits and have me try them on, and in the end I got to buy whatever I wanted. It was super fun and kind of weird, but I loved it nonetheless, ha.
  2. With the Labbies. This was my one SURPRISE shower. All of my wonderful co-workers kidnapped me from work and surprised me with a bridal shower! It was so fun! They worked with matt to see what my favorite treats are (He told them I liked pineapple and tortilla chips.... which I do like, but sort of random?) and we played some fun games, and I got some good lingerie and a crockpot! Those girls are so sweet!
  3. With the friends. Kris threw me a bridal shower, and filmed matt answering "the newlywed game" questions, which was sweet. Everytime I got one wrong I had to put on a bra or panties over my clothes... which is weird but also great. I never got pictures from that.... not sure I want them though, haha. Way to go piss!
  4. With the McAllisters. My dad's side of the family threw us a wedding shower; which basically meant that boys were allowed. All my aunts and uncles pitched in to get us a vacuum!! It's the greatest thing ever! The Bruce/Deb McAllister kids got us a big chalkboard which has been AWESOME to use for keeping track of what we are doing for the week; we totally love it.
  5. With the Washingtonians. About a week before we got married, all the washington girls and adults that have moved down went out to lunch at CPK to celebrate Katie & I getting married. It was seriously so great to see all these great people. It was especially great to see Brother Robison, who I haven't seen since I graduated; who has been one of my greatest mentors and friends.
  6. With the stoddards. Matt's mom's side of the family threw me a shower up in Farmington. They are so great! It was themed "romantic movies" so all the gifts we got were themed on a different movie. Super cute. Matt's grandma made us a quilt, we had a great brunch, played the newly wed game and bridal pictionary. There's also this weird tradition called "Kiss for every bow" that I've never heard of... Basically for every ribbon/bow that was on a present I unwrapped, I had to tie it around my hair/head and matt had to untie them all and give me a kiss for every one. It was cute :)
7. With the sisters. The day before we got married we had a quick shower with my sisters (and soon-to-be sister-in-laws) We were supposed to do a bunch of stuff, but ended up not having cars... So we made toilet paper wedding dresses and RENTED A PUPPY!!! BEST SURPRISE EVER!! It was matt's idea... I think maybe he was hoping that if I rented a puppy often enough I would not want to have a puppy later when we got married (didn't work... i still want a puppy). So fun. My sisters are great :)

Time was-a-ticking down for the wedding... Also these two are like best friends. I love it :)
